Where would I be in 3 years time?

When I first started working in ACS my mom ask me a question, how if I'm still at the same position with the same pay after 3 years? I answered her I'll resign without even thinking. She kept quiet and continued driving. I have no idea what she was thinking that moment but now when I flash back and try to think from her angle I guess she's thinking why do my daughter gave that kind of answer?

What does it means working in a same place for 3 years without changes? It sounded to me now as if you doesn't show improvement at all. Well, it might be because your superior doesn't appreciate your hard work. Fortunately, I have a marvellous manager. Her name is Annie Han. I like her very much because of her kindness and mainly because of her personality. She's very supportive towards her staffs. She gave me lots of confidence in my job and things that I'm doing currently. 

Today Annie offered me a promotion. A total different working team, job scope and of course a different manager. I accepted her offer. To be frank, I'm sort of afraid of getting to know new people and adapting to new environment but like what Annie said I'm young now I should try more variety of things and also for my sake of extending my social cycle. I do agree with her, like I always said to myself if I manage to get over it, I'll show improvement. Nothing is easy in order to success I totally understood that. I've been working in my current department for 1 year and 9 months. Getting a promotion within this time frame is quite satisfying although I'll miss my current colleagues.

At least I can now tell my mom, mom I'll be improving from time to time and in 3 years time your daughter will not be same girl who answered you that day.
